~March 21st - Days of the Reckoning Tour 2
------------------------------------------

Hey everybody. Noah here just to fill you in on a little bit of whats going on with us lately. This tour has been pretty rad for the most part so far. The Showbread boys are of course bunches and bunches of fun, despite their mean and hateful demeanor. Haha, syke. But seriously, they've been a blast getting to know, and of course me being a goofball, it seems to fit really well. The Tyler Read guys are awesome dudes. They are truly genuine and love people lots, and of course their music kicks hard. Be sure to meet them if you get a chance in the future, it'll change your life forever, not really but maybe. Anyway, if you haven't heard yet, we're currently stuck in Indianapolis, IN due to some bus troubles. We were almost really disappointed about all this when suddenly we saw the light ahead. There's a Gym nearby! Yes, a Gym, and a mall, and lots and lots of food!! Oh, did i mention there's a Guitar Center too? Heck yes. We are hooked up! Life as we know it is perfectly satisfactory. We are still alive Pillar fans. Well, thats pretty much it for now ya'll but....Oh wait, one more thing, my wife and baby are doing pretty amazing too. Hannah is getting so big, and she started mocking me and copying me when i make certain sounds and facial expressions, but thats ok because she's a Daddy's girl. Its just plain awesome. Yep. Well, there it is. I'm done telling you about stuff and i hope you like it. Peace, and God bless you all.

Noah

~February 27th - Days of the Reckoning Tour 2
------------------------------------------

What's up? Hope you all have been doing good. Sorry there hasn't been a journal entry in a while. We have been out on the road hitting it pretty hard since the end of January. We are out on tour with two really good bands- Showbread and Tyler Read (its a band, not a dude). We really like Tyler Read's music. Those guys are going to be huge someday. Tyler Read is actually the name of the singer and drummers cousin. I actually just met the real Tyler Read at the last show in Louisiana. The guys in Showbread put on an insane live show. There are like 7 guys in the band and they all go nuts. We are getting along good with everyone and building new friendships. Jordan from Tyler Read and Ivory from Showbread both try to work out everyday so we have some stuff in common. Right now we are actually home for a week break. It sure is good to see the family again. Then we hit the road for another 3 weeks to finish the tour. Please check the Tour Dates to see if we are coming near you. Thanks for all your prayers and support.

-Kalel

~January 26th - Pillar at NAMM Anaheim CA
--------------------------------------------

This past weekend all four of us guys ended up out in Anaheim, CA at the NAMM show. Just to save time explaining what it is just google it!!! Anyway we spent countless hours walking around talking to our endorsers and meeting with friends. On Friday night we had a chance to go to PRS Guitars showcase and hang out. Noah is now onboard playing PRS and Jack, the pres. of PRS Guitars, is a great guy that really bent over backwards to take care of us. We hung out and watched some amazing musicians that night, including James Brown's band. That was definately a highlight. We also got a chance to hang with Chris Henderson from 3 Doors Down and Mark Tremonti from Alter Bridge/Creed. We also ran into a lot of familiar faces running around all day. Rupert from survivor was there and got a chance to talk with him for a bit. He is quite the music lover and promotes a lot of shows in the Indianapolis area. Aside from seeing people, talking with people, and watching people we didn't do much else. That in itself was enough to wear us out. We got back on sunday night in time for me to catch a church service and some football. Now its time to get ready for our tour.

~December 19th - End of Tour and Going home!-------------------------------------------

The last week of the "The Days of the Reckoning Tour" might have been one of the toughest in Pillar history. Our bus ended up getting a transmission overhaul which took most of the week. Besides having to cancel a show we had to hitch rides or rent cars to make the other shows. The trip from Great Falls, MT to Cheyenne, WY was made is three separate cars- 3 people to a vehicle (band and crew). Despite the bus troubles and everyone having a cold we remembered to be joyful and not let these little "stumbling blocks" keep us down. We want to thank The Showdown, Decyfer Down, and Day of Fire for helping us out and letting us ride in their vans. We ended up getting the bus back on Omaha, NE- just in time to drive to the last show of the tour in Wichita, KS.

Normally the final shows on a tour are filled with pranks, but not so much on this tour due to the fact that almost everyone was sick. There were a few moments of craziness as other band members romped around on stage with masks on and a suite of armor. The last show was very special thought because lots of friends and family came out- Rob's family, my brother Chris and mom, Lester's wife and baby, and our managers to name a few. The Wichita show also rocked- a great way to end the tour.

Please support The Showdown, Decyfer Down, and Day of Fire- they are all great bands and super guys. We are thankful for the friendships built on this tour. Now we are off for the next month to spend with our families. We hope you all have a happy Christmas and a blessed new year.

~December 12th - Great Falls, MT-------------------------------------------------

It happened. We are stuck. Yesterday morning we had a breakdown and had to hitch a ride with the other bands to make last nights show here in Great Falls, MT. Now we are stranded for a few days. It is very beautiful out here, tall pine trees and snow capped mountains, but not a place you want to have a break down. Its cold and windy. A friend of ours passed along some good words before this tour started that very much applied to yesterday- when trials come consider it all joy. Everyone was pretty much in good spirits and the show rocked. Before I forget, the crowd in Spokane, WA the other day was one of the most rockinest crowds of the whole tour. Yeah, I said it- rockinest.

So I think we are going to hit a movie today and tonight meet up with all the other bands for some grilling at a friends house. Its been really nice getting to hang out with all the other bands. I consider them all friends. Because of the breakdown the Colorado Springs show is having to be rescheduled. Yes, Colorado got jacked on this tour. Sorry. Three more shows to go then home for Christmas. FYI- the new Pillar past time is the Play Station 2 game Guitar Heroes. I guess these guys think they can play the guitar or something?

-Kalel

~December 5th - Modesto, CA-------------------------------------------------

After our Thanksgiving break it was sure hard to leave our families and step back into the bus. Our sound guy, Danny, surprised us and had the bus all decorated for Christmas with lights and everything. It brought smiles to our faces and made leaving again a little easier. Our first stop back on the road was in Denver, CO. It was white, wet, and cold there. Thanks to all the people who braved the snow and came out to see us. We were supposed to play West of Denver the next day,
but we had to cancel the show because of all the snow. Around 20 inches of snow dropped and it was just impossible for us to make the drive. So we ended up hanging out at a Dave and Busters (its like a Chucky Cheese for adults). While we were there Rob ended up running into a Denver Bronco football player while playing a horse racing game. Now we have slowly made our way out to California where we can enjoy all the In-N-Out burgers we can eat. Check out the picture of my bass. The Showdown's merch guy, Stevie, is an amazing artist and painted a skull on my pick guard. It looks pretty cool. I am going to have him paint a huge spider on another pick guard for me. Tonight we are rocking our Modesto, CA. Looking forward to meeting the rest of you all out here on the west coast. Thanks for coming out to our shows.

~November 22nd - Home for Thanksgiving
-------------------------------------------------

Sorry its taken a few days to write this up. We got home for our Thanksgiving break on Sunday and honestly since being home I just felt like doing nothing. The last few days of tour before this break were interesting to say the least. On Thursday we tore through Abilene, TX. Before the show we stopped by Abilene's station Rock 108 to hang out for a bit. They asked us to play an acoustic version of Everything which we of course obliged. Those guys over at Rock 108 have been big supporters of Pillar for a long time. If you live in the area please call them up and thank them for playing Pillar. On Friday we had a HUGE show in Dallas, TX at The Door. We haven't played The Door for a long while because it used to be too small. Since then they made the place a little bigger. The crowd was huge and crazy. People were getting on stage and jumping off throughout our set- not recommended by the way- very dangerous- Beau or a band member might throw you off! If we throw you off its only because we love you. We don't want to see you get accidentally whacked on the head by a guitar or bass in motion. After the show a friendly fan and his son brought us a huge tray of BBQ! Yes, it was good, especially the ribs. Thank you bro.

Now here is where things get "interesting". Dallas is only like 4 hours from home (Tulsa). But instead of going home we had an Acquire The Fire event booked 10 hours the wrong way in Albuquerque, NM. Now we love playing these events, but let me explain what happened. So we get there, set up, and do our normal ATF routine. About 10 minutes before we were to play I was watching the group performing right before us. Right in the middle of their song someone from ATF walked out on stage, the music stopped, and she said everyone needed to clear out of the building. You should have seen the look on the performers faces when that happened. They were like, "What are you doing?" Once we got outside we heard there was a gas leak. About 5 minutes later everyone started walking back into the building. Then they all came out again. We were watching this second exodus from the bus and wondered what in the heck was going. At this time the rumor was someone called in a bomb threat. I was getting tired so I decided lay down in my bunk. After a while the guys told me the police said everyone had to leave the entire grounds. I said, "I am so tired I am just going to stay here and the police can from drag me out." I was really tired and later to find out I was getting sick. So sure enough after a few hours I heard someone open the bus door and ask, "Is anybody in there!". I peaked out of my bunk and said YES. There were three SWAT guys standing in the bus wearing helmets and body armor holding machine guys with a light on the end focused at me. I told them I am a band member, that I was sleeping, and had no idea what was going on. They weren't mad or anything, but they wanted to get me out of there. We all stepped out of the bus and they ushered me into this military looking vehicle with a machine gun mounted on the top. So I am sitting in this Hummer-looking-thing with three SWAT guys sitting across from me with machine guys and someone is actually standing up through a top hole manning the mounted machine gun. Its like they were expecting a war. It was funny to me because I was still half asleep and Beau has been playing a new game called Gears Of War and the SWAT guys looked like the army guys in the game. While I was doing that all the other guys were walking around the bad part of town and Rob ended up getting interviewed by the Albuquerque, NM news. Check it out-(click on the video link). They totally butchered Rob's name. After a few hours they let us back on the grounds to get our gear so we could FINALLY go home!. We hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving. Looking forward to seeing all of you out on the west coast on the second half of The Days Of The Reckoning Tour.

~November 13th - Days of the Reckoning Tour Update
--------------------------------------

My beard is growing. Check out week 2 progress. I would really like to try and keep it going until the end of the tour. Just not sure how the "beard thing" will go over at Thanksgiving since we have a short break during that time. If I end up cutting it for Thanksgiving I might have to do a Wolverine chop cut before. I will try to stay strong and keep it though for you all.

This last week we were invited to visit three general market rock radio stations. On Tuesday we by The Blitz and played "Everything" acoustically on-air. It went really good. After that we swung by Radio U/TVU (tvulive.com) and hosting a TVU show. We've known those guys for so long its like visiting family. On Wednesday we had the very tough job of eating a Thanksgiving dinner prepared by chefs with some radio station contest winners. Man, this job is so hard, but somebody has to do it. It might as well be me. Since Thursday was off and we were playing only 2 hours from home on Friday we went home for 20 hours. It was very nice sleeping in my own bed and seeing my boys even if only for a few hours. The Friday show in Joplin, MO was fun because all our wives and children came. At one point we had 4 wives and 5 children in the Pillar bus. My son, Kaden, of course rocked out on stage all night. He loves the "shows". When I talked to him on the phone the next day he said, "I want to see more shows." It was really hard seeing them all for a few days then having to leave again. Last night, Sunday, we rocked in good ole' Nashville, TN. Normally these shows are border-line lame because so many industry people come out. Note- industry people don't mosh. Last night we played a very cool club called The Exit/In. The place was packed and the first half of the club was filled with rabid, crowd surfing, moshing fans. We got to hang out with our good friends- Matt "Link" Tipton, Travis Jenkins (our original guitar player), Jeff our booking agent, Jeff from Spoken, and lots of people from our label. Now we are off for Atlanta, GA for another rock show.

Check back to pillarlive.com for more video journals and information for the Days Of The Reckoning Tour. Hope to see more of you out on the road this week.

Late, Kalel.

~November 6th - Days of the Reckoning Tour Update--------------------------------------

Hello avid readers. I appreciate that you take the time to read my incoherent ramblings. We are about 10 days into the Days of the Reckoning Tour. We had to start hanging out crutches at the door because the tour rocks so hard people can't walk after the show. Stages are having to be rebuilt because once we leave the stage there is only a pile of ash. J/K. The guys in The Showdown have been rubbing off on me. They are hilarious.

We are having a great time out here. On Halloween we rocked a small club called The Icon in Buffalo, NY. We bought silly masks earlier in the day at the mall so we decided to have some fun during the show and wear them. Don't get scared now. We were just having fun. Played a few more clubs this week in Akron, OH (Lime Spider) and Baltimore, MD (Recher Theatre).

Now we recently got an email from someone asking why we were playing at a bar? My answer- Jesus has called us to "Go" not to have people "come". Christians should be the light in dark places. If you don't bring the light to dark places- it remains dark. God has called us to go play these places (remember we play churches also) and who are we to question God's will? Not me...you?

On Saturday we played at the Harbor Yard Arena in Bridgeport, CT for 8000 people. It was truly awesome. We stayed the night here in Bridgeport and then played a short acoustic set as a prize to a church who won a contest. After the set we hung out with the youth group. Rob and Lester played dodge ball with the kids. Nothing says "Jesus loves you" like being smacked in the face by a rubber ball. Now we are off to Columbus, OH for our off day tomorrow. Noah will be flying in and meeting us there. The Pillar force will be complete. Now we are ready to destroy a stage near you!

~October 30th - Days of the Reckoning Tour (off day Cleveland, OH)---------------------

What's up? So we are 5 days into the tour so far and it is going amazing. We love the guys in Day Of Fire, The Showdown, and Decyfer Down- they all rock hard! This tour started off the right way. We all showed up a day early in Minneapolis, MN (last Wed.), had dinner together, fellowship, and prayer. We wanted to set the tone for this tour- to be servants to each other and everyone we encounter on the road.

Since then we have rocked Minneapolis, Chicago, Cincinnati, and Peoria, IL. I love our new set design. It just has a great look to it. Makes me want to rock even harder. Chris (guitars for Decyfer Down) likes to workout also- so we are getting along. Rob was able to bring his family, Linda and baby, out on tour so that has been fun. A baby crying during the night doesn't fade me one bit- I am used to it. I believe Noah will be joining us back on the road November 7th in Columbus, OH. He is at home spending him with his new born. We sure miss him though and can't wait for him to rock the stage with us again. Beau ended up having to drive the bus Friday and Saturday night because our drivers dad passed away. Somehow Beau pulled it off and was able to still get the rest of his work done- which is a lot.

Finally we have our first off day. We had too much time off so after the first few shows our bodies were wrecked. My neck muscles were killing from head banging. Today was much needed. Our hotel was about a mile from everywhere so Lester and I borrowed bikes from the hotel (they had some there?) and we rode to the gym, a mall, grocery store and had all kinds of fun. Tonight in a new episode of Heroes- can't wait. Off to Buffalo, NY tomorrow. Hope to see you out on the road soon.

-Kalel.
